I spent some time yesterday plucking fall items from my storage cupboard and putting together outfits. This makes shopping for anything new much more sensible. I am putting my Color Story together and it is looking like navy-brown-camel-pink-cinnamon-red, with a couple of shots of green and even a slight bit of a dusty mustard yellow.
It sounds like a lot of color doesn't it! I have a few items in a brown leopard print and I am really attracted to pairings of navy and brown, which is why I love these shoes.

I have been wearing this navy skirt with leopard belt since the spring and I can see the outfit carrying right through early fall.
Today I'll be running errands with The Rascals and finishing off the afternoon with a glass of wine on the front porch.

ReplyDeleteHi JCrewJD, I really recommend Chie's which I don't do lightly as they are expensive. In this case you get what you pay for, I wear my heeled Chie's all day, every day, they are very supportive and good for the feet AND they are adorable.

DeleteSince you are here in Canada you can order from Browns.ca, they deliver Fedex with a flat $5 return (with pick-up, so deluxe). This is how I have tried many styles and I have certainly sent back more than I kept. I find I take a half size larger and it took me some time to figure that out. I am normally a size 8.5 and while I own Chie's in a 38.5 it is really the 39 that fits me best.
I am so happy your husband is back for the drive, and the party of course! I had to drive today on the highways and it wasn't pleasant, so much traffic here in Ontario,

I've been *this* close to ordering Chies several times but hesitated due to unfamiliarity with sizing. Can you pass on any advice in that regard?

DeleteChie sizing has been a little tricky for me until I figured out that I really just always need to size up one half. I have Chie's ranging in size, from 38.5 to 39.5. The 39 fits me best after accounting for wearing in, and I am normally a solid 8.5 in all shoe brands.
Often the online shops will counsel that Chie's are true-to-size, but I don't think it's necessarily true, my best tip would be to size up one half. Of course it would also be a very good thing to order from a site with easy returns!
OMG those shoes have it all- Navy, brown, dots, gold. I think a dramatic shoe is such a wardrobe booster. You really find such great pieces. I am looking forward to more of your pairings!

ReplyDeleteOh not that I can afford to buy it at the moment but I emailed about the organza sheath and sizing and the PS was wonderful, she actually thought that with my odd bod measurements the dress would be unflattering on my waist and hips - what a wonderful service!

When I was a little girl my parents had a friend who owned a clothing store and she was very fashionable, I always looked up to her but I remember when I was about 8 years old I had an argument with her that blue and brown could never be seen together... she begged to differ, I should let her know I've mended my thinking!
I think it's very classic and prep in a good way.

DeleteBeautiful shoes and I love navy and brown together although I am usually doing saddle brown, dark brown looks dull on me. I think my fall color story will be very similar to yours, Black and camel, navy and brown with some jewel tones and ruby reds with some creams and ivories that I always like to wear. It was good to think about it, I discover I need a pair of navy wool trousers and blue pencil skirt. And now the jeweled collar sweater will work beautifully into it, I will have a review of it on Monday.

Oh the shoes, I die! I love your color story plan. I'd love to pull out my fall stuff, but I can't bear to deal with that right now when it's so hot and humid. I love to dream about it though, and thank goodness for Polyvore, which helps as well.

DeleteM I've pulled out most of it and it's been good fun, but I've got a good closet set up on my third floor which makes it easy, our heat has broken and I hope yours has too.
DeleteAre those shoes not so cute? The heel is perfect, they are far more comfortable than flats. Some of the new Chie's for fall are coming out now, so pretty.

DeleteWhat lovely shoes! I am still dotless ( some would say dotty though) and stuck in the stripe zone; must correct this with something with spots for fall. The wine is chilling,lovely seabreeze tonight, AND the fall lookbook came today, yes to darkest Maine!
