|Dining Room Dishes at Rose Hill Mansion, Geneva New York.|
These dishes, above, are the dining room set preserved at Rose Hill Mansion (for more on Rose Hill and Geneva in general please see this post). Notice the bits of bright blue mixed with a restrained henna brown in the pattern: it's pretty but not too feminine.

As you know if you've read through my Color Story for fall I'm mixing in pinks with brown this year, but I wanted to show you a color palette which focuses on blues with brown. I think it looks really fresh, and even though the shapes are feminine it is a slight nod to menswear, always a nice look for September.

Bright blue Brora Jumper.
This is a terrific skirt for fall days when you may want to wear autumnal colors but the weather is still warm, the linen is lined with cotton and it's quite cool.
I'm wearing a very staid dark brown leather loafer with this outfit, another nod to menswear dressing. A brown wingtip oxford would be charming too, especially one with a bit of a heel.
I hope your week has gone well. Mine's been a little grumptastic but never mind we're moving on.
How about the weekend? We'll be celebrating MrBP's birthday with our family, definitely a cheer-up. I think I'll make the Dinner Menu To Avoid Crying, which you can see for yourself here.
What are you up to Darlings?
