Blue's Clues

The Collection Bonded Sweater Jacket in navy.
New arrivals for the holidays are online at J Crew.  I've had a little look and a few things have caught my eye, most especially in these saturated shades of cobalt, indigo and deep navy.
I love this sequin shift dress: if you have silver hair or very black hair, wouldn't this be stunning?
Goldsign jeans: I am not a jeans lover but these are amazing.

Gorgeous Liberty pyjamas.

Finally a dress that June Cleaver my fashion icon would order from J Crew.
A-Line dress in indigo.

Polka dot navy skirt: festive.
There are some gorgeous new baubles from Lulu Frost, colorway: Morning Sky.

I'm buying these ones mark my words.
Did you see anything you like, love, have to have?

  1. I'm after the sheepskin lined Sperry boots - how prosaic am I?

I do love all of your blue pics, I thought that jewellery was stunning too.

    1. Kathy, the grey and camel mix - my favourite colour combo.

    2. Love that combo - think I'll order those too and give the navy ones to my daughter. I have this beautiful gray wool coat with camel suede borders, bought for me by David at some hunting store in Greenwich. Need to get it shortened to knee length. When you come to LA next, bring your coats, I have a genius tailor.

    3. Kathy: I might just do that!

  2. Hi Tabs, Those Sperry boots are very sensible and warm completely waterproof too, which will be perfect for your weather.
Aren't those baubles gorgeous! That shade of blue, love it.

  3. I love the double-cloth great coat and the fair isle leggings. I also like the sequin scattered sweater. God help me - I'm trying to embrace colour.

    1. Sulky start with navy and then it won't be so shocking! I also like the fair isle leggings, they did them last year and I bought them. I wore those things all winter! They were perfect for skiing but also just for lying around watching football, drinking wine and eating pretzels. Good times.
I think one would look very 'in charge' in that great coat which is why you should have it!

    2. Sulky - love the coat, only in navy though - other color looks like a band aid. Navy and black is my favorite color combo.

    3. I've spotted reindeer leggings in Jack Wills that i want to wear on Christmas Eve at home and Christmas night and boxing day!

    5. I've just looked at those leggings Tabs, and I love them. I can feel Mr Sulky's eyes rolling already! He just gets so excited when I dress like Ernest Shackleton for bed.

    6. Sulky - are they not perfect for lying on the couch all Christmas week with the Roses/Quality St box balanced on your tum?

The last line craked me up!

    7. I have to go look up Ernest Shackleton now!

    8. ROTFL (rolling on the floor laughing) ~ David likes sporty clothing, nothing turns him on more than when I dress for a safari.

  4. At first glance late last night, I was impressed with what I saw but shocked at the prices. After a 2nd review this morning - there really isn't anything calling my name. Several things I like are over priced, even with the 25% off. I'm saving for Diane, so nothing for me.

    1. Hi Julie, I'm guessing that without the 25% there would have been NO orders!
We know that it's all going to sale.

  5. I just ordered the Goldsign jeans, and a pair of flannel PJs for David. Already own the sheepskin Sperry in navy from another season. Jewelry is so pretty, the stones are like chalcedony, which I love.

    1. So! Ye olde flannel PJ's for David?! Wrestling with this image! Ha! I have been thinking about his list of "too much like my mother" banned clothing for you Kathy. I'll do a post on it if you and he (on his mother's behalf) promise to not feel too insulted!?

    2. Sulky - do it, I've been thinking about it too! Kathy and David can take a good British ribbing!

    3. I think the banned clothing post will be a scream.

    4. Kathy you and are #1 Goldsign fans.

    5. Oh Sulky - not at all. And it's not just his mother, strong opinions about everything. When I showed him a fair isle sweater online that I liked, he said "Oh, have you been invited to go ice skating on a pond in Vermont?"

    6. We, especially David will feel honored. Don't even get me started on what he has to say regarding sequins....

    7. Ha! That's probably why you're so happily married - he has strong opinions and he's not afraid to voice them. 2 peas in a pod! My Mr. is the same. I like a man who can growl back at me, but make me laugh at the same time. I shall get cracking!

  6. I have Sperry's too but mine are unlined...
I do like the look of those jeans, they'd work with my new red flats.
Must speed over to the website and browse...
you might need to add a warning that reading this blog might be expensive!

    1. Hostess reading this blog is also expensive for me!
I was thinking those jeans would be so pretty with red flats.

    1. Hi Sue, what's cooking for cocktail hour? I'm popping on over to see what you're up to.
Yes I love the Liberty pyjamas, beautiful, but I tend to wear nightgowns.

  8. I swooned over the admiral blue velvet tee. I have the merino fair isle leggings from last year. They wash up multiple times nicely and don't pill and are warm and cozy and great for cross country skiing. They're such good quality I don't think I need another pair though I do love the print on this year's version. Adriano Goldschmied designs the best jeans and cords I've ever worn. Anthropologie sells AG Stevies. I bet the Goldsign jean is fantastic.

    1. LTee, we're on the same page with the fair isle leggings, I'd like to have this years pattern but really I think one pair is enough, but they did wash up brilliant.
The Goldsign jeans are great, I have the other pair offered at J Crew in the fall, the cuffed ones. I think the ones above would be great with navy.

    2. The new Goldsign jeans will be great with everything. A total neutral.

  9. Love all the blue items you picked ! Can't wait to see your reviews. Have a great weekend!

  10. I love all of your picks, though I think that the cost of the liberty PJs is obscene!

Aw - now i want polka dots navy a lot. and earrings. a lot...

    1. WMM, I am crushing on that navy dotted skirt too, which I missed on my first cruise through Crewl-out. Here DBP goes again, snow and pencil skirts to party-primped Eskimos :-)

  11. SINGING THE BLUES Ah Dani, as previously noted at WMM, those Lulu Frost earrings are whispering my name, loudly. In fact I am taking internal votes on flannel bathrobe (it's navy and I could use a new one) or bling. Anyone care to chime in before 25% expires...Otherwise, I am with Julie Styles that roll-out prices are getting hard to swallow. JC Marketing has trained me badly for them - NBAFP (never bite at full price) is the new PTTO.

  12. BTW-Just lusting over this skirt at Calypso, http://www.calypsostbarth.com/clothing/skirts/nenet-layered-ombre-skirt and noticed they have a lot of AG jeans.

  13. I'm not as excited over the rollout this round, the Bonded Sweater/coat and the A-line are in my picks too. I only sent myself a snood along with a couple popbacks. You'll laugh, but I crazily ordered another Madelene dress that I'm going to tailor as a shortened-up version. I just adore the color and wool and wanted a fun, cheekier version. A bit cuckoo. Then I just ordered a couple of the merino turtlenecks once again.

  14. Can't wait to see a review on the coat. The earrings are beautiful and I've never had any jewelry from Crew but maybe I should. How is the sizing on Goldsign jeans?

  15. I'm loooooving the blues just released! Blue has always been my favorite color and I get so giddy when J. Crew releases blue items. I am adoring this sequin dress, but I do feel like it would be too much trouble to take care of. It must look stunning on tho! A girl can dream!
