Pink and Brown

Rabbit Dish

Holiday decorating begins full force on Monday.
Pink glitter wreath on a brown wall.

Late summer colors, remember?
Pink with brown.

Pink Lady Day coat (J Crew 2009)
Louis Vuitton Monogram Empreinte bag in "terre".
I found my pink Lady Day coat in the back of the downstairs closet, the place the coats go to wait it out.  I've been wearing it over a brown base and carrying my LV bag everywhere.
Have you dug out your winter coat yet?  Which one are you wearing?
My eye is repelled by black and gray just now, it's the pink, coral, navy and brown I've hauled out.
What is your eye attracted to these days?
Have a lovely Saturday.  We're off to see Old Rascal.

  1. I love pink and brown! The bag looks great with your coat, very elegant. I usually go for richer punk near my face but I love this delicate color on you. Oh and the dish! I have some very pretty china from my mother/grandmother but I never use it, it is all plain white at the dinner table for some reason.
I refuse to take our my winter coat just yet, I just started wearing the trench, we ate back to 60F.

    1. Hi ajc, The cold is coming I have to tell you. I have all white for my table but I've been mixing it up with either blue and white or brown and white, it all looks so pretty, use the china!

  2. Hi Dani, have fun in Toronto with Old Rascal!
I am wearing a couple of different coats, depending on outfit. Either the navy peacoat or a longer wool coat with a subtle blue check, both of which I got at the Max Mara outlet near Budapest. Today I pick up my camel hair coat - it has been at the tailor's for hemming. We'll be at the Remembrance Day ceremony tomorrow and I'll wear the check coat over my grey Lands End sweater dress with boots and woolly tights. It looks like the weather will be ok - last year it was snowing, but sleet, not the nice stuff.

  3. I think I'll finally get to wear my navy pea coat today. Love the pink and brown. Did find two coats in the back of my closet that need to be hemmed to knee length. One gray, one black.

    1. Kathy, the black and gray are still part of my daily uniform, but the weekends no. I love a good navy pea coat, haven't had one since I was in University, it's such a good look.

  4. Hi Dani - just checking in during a lunch break - love your outfits, desperately want rabbit dish - bunnies are divine! I vowed to never wear brown or grey again and yet here they are, back in my life, though I am more careful as to how i wear them! I have started wearing winter coats now - is freezing here - my red and a love black military style coat and pea coats of course. At least it isn't cold enough for the down coats yet!

  5. The clutch is divine with the coat, it's a classy combination. I'm in love with all the blues lately. It's not every season where blue is prevalent and I'm in my glory picking up things in such beautiful colors including J.Crew's LS cashmere tee in Pagoda blue.

I hope you will share some of your holiday decor with us too.

    1. xoxo don't worry I'll be sharing it all, you might be sorry you asked. I've resolved to keep busier and that includes posting more often. Those blues are perfect for you, and true story it's not always on offer. Apparently next year is going to be filled with black, hmph not looking forward to it!

  6. All my coats are black, Dani! At a glance it must look like I wear the same one every day. I love your pink coat, it's the kind of thing I'd wear in my dreams. Have a good visit!

    1. Sulky how about a pink coat with a black velvet collar? That was my dream coat when I was a little girl, lying awake dreaming about clothes, some things never change...

  7. Pink and brown is one of my favorite combinations, your coat and bag are just lovely together. I was just thinking about pairing those chocolate brown polka dot lounging pants ;) with a pink cashmere sweater. It's finally cool enough for me to *think* about wearing a coat, you'd laugh because it's only in the mid-60s. I'd probably start with the Gondola or the navy lattice-weave since they are lighter weight. It will still warm up to the 70s later in the week.

I love adding the pearls to the pink and brown ... gorgeous.

    Have a wonderful visit!

  8. I too love pale pink and brown, my winter coats are all bugging me, it's the tie belt potato sack syndrome, wish I could find a decent tailor. Just back from 30th year school reunion, I left early but survived, hardly anyone recognised me as a slim non frump!

    2. Marsha, I don't think I'll post on it as it involves other people, but I was so nervous, that I didn't want to go in and had to walk round the quadrangle before I plucked up the courage, it felt like the first day at primary school!

    3. Tabs I give up on the loose belted silhouette as well, it works well in a trench but once we veer into an unstructured shape it reads bathrobe.
You are so brave going to that reunion!

  9. Yes, I am also avoiding the black and grey right now. Love your pink and brown combination. I am constantly wearing my JC bateau neck cashmere sweater in burnished terracotta these days - it's the perfect autumn colour, rusty dark orange. I'm also thinking of switching it up to pale pink and ivory. I ordered the No.2 skirts in antique white and mauve blush, fingers crossed they work out.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
