Brora is running such a fun Christmas promotion: an advent calendar for grown-ups with a different treat each and every day.
You know I am a huge fan of Brora, and now that the winter weather is here I am wearing as much Brora as I can layer on my body: so warm and well-made, this is the opposite of fast fashion.
I've been thinking about Brora quite a bit this week, I so appreciate that they manufacture in good old England, that they are environmentally responsible and treat their workers properly with living wages and civilized working conditions.
To take part in the advent calendar simply go to the Brora site and
sign up for the promotion right here.
I look forward to opening the calendar each morning until Christmas, looking at all of that tweed and cashmere in highland colors is so soothing.
I hope you have a terrific Sunday. I've stayed home from church today with a sore throat but I'll be alright, I'm wearing three layers of Brora and drinking hot tea!
xoDani
They look just like your legs Dani.
ReplyDeleteHubs has that winter vomiting virus just now, phew it's brutal, mum and I who have more robust immune systems have been wearing ear muffs and drinking mulled wine. Frank and Dean are singing Christmas tunes, it's a good Sunday. Hope you feel better soon.
Tabs, that sounds ghastly! Poor Hubs! I have nothing to complain about in comparison, I just have a sore throat. Mulled wine what a good idea! Must get the Christmas music on the go as well.
DeleteHope you and your Mum stay clear of that nasty virus.
I'm having a lazy Sunday as I have had what Tabitha's hubby has...
ReplyDeleteI think I need to go over and check out that advent calendar!
Have a happy cozy Sunday Dani
Thank you Hostess and I'm happy to see the past tense on that... how dreadful. I hope you are getting lots of rest as well!
DeleteI've gotten the best shopping tips from you, Dani. The Viyella dress is on the way, thanks to you. I look at Brora and love so many items. Well made and classic. I wish I could buy more, my use for such garments is so limited since winter, if you can call it that, is very short. I think I'll sign up for the advent calendar for fun, to get outfit ideas and live vicariously.
ReplyDeleteHi DF! We get so much wear out of Brora up here but it's true you don't have very many, or any, freezing days. Brora cashmere is such good defence against the damp cold, my whole family wears it (and MrBP has only one Brora sweater but won't wear his other sweaters now, once you go to the castle it's hard to leave..)
DeleteSign up for the calendar, it's good fun and Brora does such a nice job with these things!
the thought of cashmere tights sounds so luxurious dani. oh my!
ReplyDeletehope you are feeling better asap!

janet
Janet they are very nice, I have sensitive skin so that's my excuse, I can't wear synthetics.
DeleteThanks my throat is pretty bad and talking is painful, hopefully I won't have to boss any rascals around today!
Dani - sorry on the sore throat. No fun!
ReplyDeleteI have bought an advent calendar for the kids and forget where I put it! Your post has me scurrying around trying to find it!!!
So far, no luck!
I love Brora. That may be a birthday gift to me after the holidays. I am tired of JC disposable fashion after my recent forays. For every one item which is lovely and fits right and of reasonable quality, there are 15 more which are not! I am thinking of sticking with JC for much more disposable items - ts, etc and leave the rest alone! Off to visit cropped cardi!
WMM I always bought the Playmobil advent calendars for my rascals, they loved it.
DeleteJ Crew : 1 to 15 those are not good odds! But you know if I looked at what I ordered and then returned this year that sounds about right. Hmph we need to look at that going forward!
I agree Brora is the perfect birthday treat!
How was Barry's party?!!
divine! Just wrote up a whole post on it! I left out gory parts; should anyone dance like I did to soft cell and justin timberlake???
DeleteWMM I don't know but I am a ridiculous dancer when given the chance, get out of the way everybody!
DeleteLoved your post what a great night and Barry scores big points for his outfit! I want to visit NB!
I love Advent calendars, I used to cheat and peek ahead as if I didn't know the calendar would end in Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt's the colors that I love most about Brora, muted but confident.
Fred I know the colors are for forever, they never get old or tired . I was always one to peek at gifts and things: impatient.
DeleteFlint, lichen, treacle-- I love the names too
DeleteI've been checking the Brora advent calendar too but there is nothing on my wishlist this year. Recently they sent me a personalized discount code because I purchased from them earlier this year. Did you get one of those? I forgot about it and it was unused, I wish I would have passed it on. I bought two of the cashmere blankets during the summer sale with the intention of giving one as a Christmas gift and now that the season is here I am so glad I did because it will be a fabulous gift. I have you to thank for the Brora introduction, they truly are wonderful.
ReplyDeletexoxo I did not get one of those codes but it sounds like a keeper, though it might have had a time limit? I think Brora does not have the margins that most retailers have, they don't pass out codes willy-nilly!
DeleteThat cashmere blanket will be so beautiful, what a wonderful gift and you were so smart to organize that this past summer.
Hi Dani,
ReplyDeleteSorry you've got a bad sore throat, and yes, don't talk. Bought a lot of Brora last year, especially during the sale, so I'm going to hold off. We have a trip planned and I'd rather shop then. Hope you feel better soon.
Kathy I've been trying not to talk but it's hard. Especially with kids around who don't want to do their homework!
DeleteThe Brora sale is legendary, I've got my list plotted already. Where are you going on your trip? Is it Paris?!
We're going to London, Scotland and Paris. Scotland will be new for us. My husband is worried I won't want to travel far for awhile after my daughter has her baby, so we're going in February.
DeleteWhen does the Brora sale start. I bought the best coat from their sale last year.
Kathy that will be an amazing trip. I think your husband is right about you not wanting to travel once your daughter has her baby. Exciting times and she's in good company, I just saw that the Duchess is pregnant, the Brits will be going mad!
DeleteScotland! Wait a second! Will you meet Tabs for a cocktail?!
The Brora sale starts in January sometime, usually towards the end I think, I'll definitely let you know, I'll be watching for it too.
Lots of rest and hopefully it will be over quickly. You know how I feel about Brora and it was all because of Tabitha, AJC and you Missy! Today I'm thinking of scrapping my copper pan fund and buying the tablecloth and napkins from Tabitha's post yesterday. Not a good sign waking up early thinking of linens.
ReplyDeleteHi Marsha, I know that tablecloth spun by elves was compelling. Waking up with thoughts of linens what does it mean? That's some major nesting going on there! I have it too nowadays.
DeleteI just signed up for the calendar-- thanks! That big cashmere aran sweater coat looks so yummy.
ReplyDeleteLane, Doesn't it though, it would be toasty warm!
DeleteI also have signed up Dani! You are such a good influence on me!
