| Hark! The Herald Angels Sing |
I was planning to wear a black dress tonight for our Christmas Eve but I've changed my mind completely.
Instead I've hauled out this emerald green frock from J Crew. It is sleeveless but of course we have Brora cropped cardigans to deal with that issue. I had this dress shortened, it was originally a mid-calf length, now it goes to the knee which makes the skirt seem fuller and a bit more festive.
With a green clutch handbag and some emerald earrings from Kate Spade, now I just need to decide on a shoe, maybe a leopard print?
One thing is certain, festive green calls for a pink wool coat. I'll see if I can get a Rascal to take an outfit picture, then we can meet back here on the 26th and have a recap of the festivities enjoyed by one and all.
What are you planning to wear? Dressing up or down? Going out or staying in?
Merry Christmas my friends, I hope yours is happy and bright.

Merry Chrstmas to you and your family!!!
ReplyDeleteWe spend christmas eve at home and then on christmas day we visit family.
Oh I love your entire outfit, I am craving emerald green just now.
ReplyDeleteHave a very Merry Christmas Dani!
Tabs - this could be our year! I think that we would like very fine in emerald green and it is the colour of 2013!
DeleteA very Merry Christmas to you and your family, Dani! Your outfit is absolutely lovely! The emerald is my birthstone, and absolutely one of my most favorite colors, too! :)
ReplyDeleteWe will be attending the Christmas Eve service at church tonight, followed by dinner at my parents' house, and then looking at Christmas lights in their neighborhood afterwards. After that we will then head home to get the littles tucked into bed so that Santa can come and leave their presents under the tree.
The dress is beautiful, and you can never go wrong with pink and green!
ReplyDeleteI adore angel ornaments, yours is lovely. My Mom gave me an angel ornament for Christmas when I first lived on my own and it always has a special place on my tree every year.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit, I think the leopard print shoes would look fab! I think I will wear my burgundy dress tonight. Have a Merry Christmas with Mr. BP and the Rascals!
Hi Dani - you look very festive! We will be going to an early Christmas Eve Mass this evening then we'll just be at home. We don't have any plans to go out for the next couple of days - too many new books to read!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and all your commenters!
Green is perfect for the holiday. I hope you can get a full outfit picture.
ReplyDeleteHave a Merry Christmas, Dani!
I'm very excited for our party tonight.

Merry Christmas, Dani!
Hi Dani,
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Great idea on shorting the JCrew dress! I love dressing up for Christmas. The boys will be wearing matching Christmas Plaid button down shirts w/ red and black sweater vests and black slacks. My daughter will be in a beautiful gold Janie & Jane dress I found on Ebay. While I myself will be wearing a color block pink & red swing dress. Husband of course will be wearing a black suit w/ a festive tie. I'm hoping this will make one smart Christmas pic!

Dani - Divine as always!!!
ReplyDeleteI am wearing black and ivory all day, but for dinner will switch into red with a little black cardi and my red wool scarf! Tomorrow is definitely casual!!!! I think we will both be sporting our fair isle leggings, albeit different vintages!
Have a grand time tonight! Leopard it is!
Merry Xmas Dani! I think the emerald green dress is so festive and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to stay home tonight waiting for Santa (who still has to do all the gift-wrapping) and we are spending tomorrow at friends.
Merry Christmas Dani! Your green dress will be perfect for the festivities and I love your angel.
ReplyDeleteI will be off tonight to my friend's house for a special Christmas Eve dinner and tomorrow having some friends and family over. Tonight's event is formal and I will be wearing a watercolor leopard J.Crew dress from couple of years ago. It is black with purple and sleeveless and I will be wearing a velvet short sleeve jacket with it, black shoes and clutch. Tomorrow is more relaxed, so I will wear my Cashmere Fiori dress.
Again, have a magical time with your family!!!
GREENSLEVES Off to afternoon church (my dad likes to be home at midnight) and then cocktails with the neighbours. After that, tucked in until Boxing Day afternoon. I have also eschewed black in favour of, it's a Christmas "miracle" cranberry capris, or as WMM has dubbed it, red delicious, plus a pindot silk blouse and my mum's Christmas necklace, topped it off with one of my presents from the pater, a jaunty BR coat. Sadly, I will be keeping my "Gloriana" shoes inside in favour of practical boots. Pink sounds perfect for a festive round DBP. And no mops this Monday.
ReplyDeleteHi, Dani, I found out late in the game that I'm doing Christmas dinner, so that takes care of clothes for today - something that's spill-proof! to row, I'll be cooking and serving, so again, maybe a festive tee over jeans. Have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLove the emerald green, and yes to the leopard shoes.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with MR.BP and the Rascals.
