Spring Fling

Liberty pouch.
J.Crew has some spring arrivals on their website this morning, and in the gloom of late January it is cheering to see all of the bright and happy colours.
You can see the new arrivals in their entirety right here.

Here are a few of my quick picks.
Liberty lipstick mirror.

Peony pink lipstick for the lipstick mirror.

Glamourous cocktail blouse.
Bring on the Bellini.

Lovely floral silk.

In a skirt as well.

Collection Tuxedo Pencil Skirt
I am most intrigued with the pale pink pencil skirt and I'll tell you why:
"Wool/silk...Lined in Silk."
When I read that I had to get myself another cup of coffee, perhaps I hadn't quite woken up yet?  Yes, J.Crew bring back the gorgeous fabrics and silk linings I say!

What about you, anything you find darling?
I'll be out of town today but back this evening to read and reply.

Have a lovely time whatever you're doing,
xoDani

  1. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Those florals are just the ticket to lift us out of this cold spell- yours is considerably colder than mine! Silk linings- could it be? I will have to check at my store.

  3. I hope that tuxedo skirt works out for you, Dani! I saw the description and was thrilled to see the silk lining. Alas the skirt is too short for me - I consider 21" to be a petite length - but I wouldn't buy it either way since I look like death on a cracker in pink. There are a few things in the new releases that interest me, I'm holding on though and will possibly order after I read some JCA reviews.

  4. Your picks seem nice and Spring-like, Dani. I love that little pouch. A silk lining! Worth ordering just to double check that it actually is! Surely if they do it for some items they can do it for all? If it's true, they should call it The Dani, in your honour!

    1. Thanks Sulky, I'm ready to boss them around at any time. I was thinking it would be worth ordering just to see myself, see it's like you can read my mind!

  5. Hi Dani-A few new arrivals have me curious. I like the brocade top and the pink skirt (which I fear will be too straight on my hips). There is a full skirt in the Collection Look Book that I need to get details on plus the white linen tuxedo suit in the Spring Preview. Not sure about the pants, but the white linen tux blazer could be a great find. Have a good day!

  6. I like your picks Dani - but a silk lining? Can it be? I saw a poly-acrylic skirt and was to quote my son when he was 5 years old "wisgusted"!

Now i have to go take a look!

It seems too good to be true doesn't it.

  8. I am happy to read you are better! For spring I just love Liberty prints. I have seen some lovely things at Brora, but my budget being very tight this year, i might end up just shopping on Ebay. Take care.

    1. Hi Steph, Yes I did my books yesterday and things are looking a little squishy. I knew it already but it's good to remind myself and take the budget down a notch!

  11. NOT A RED LIP(STICK) :-) Pleasantly surprised with the roll-out as compared to the lookbook, but still not biting. Can't believe the Liberty scarf, which has fringed hems (saw in-store), is almost as much as schoolboy jacket in same print. Badly wishing I had kept a similar black & cream minifloral cotton blazer from a few seasons back. It is lovely to think of warmer, drier weather clothes tho'. Hope you had a good one Dani.

  12. GF I know, the lipstick! Love a new roll-out, it's eye candy not shopping. A real cheer-up on this most gloomy day.

  13. I especially loved the hummingbird print in hydrangea on the minaudière in the preorder looks. I am hoping for a nice top in that print.

  14. Hi Dani-I'm hoping you really ARE feeling better and not just experiencing that false harbinger of good health's return known as"silk lining euphoria". Took a glance through the J Crew Collection, and it is evident that Ms Gayle has been hard at work, what with the buttoned collars and roadkill hair. There is one Liberty shirt I like in the new rollout, but I'm hoping it will survive long enough to be marked down. I am trying to work on my list this year, but it is making me cross-I can't get it all sorted out in my mind. Having a much better time looking at my plant catalogs.

    1. Oh No David maybe it was silk lining euphoria! No we are all better here thanks, a bit of a lingering cough for my daughter but it's not keeping her home. We had very high fevers and felt quite bad for one day, I think we fought the flu!
Roadkill hair, yes just the look we're going for. Your shirt WILL get marked down, and yes to plant catalogues, this is the year I want to get my vegetable garden in good shape!

  15. Not one single thing from the new arrivals made my wishlist. Everything I opened in a new tab to inspect further was declined because I didn't like the fabric, print or color combination. The cocktail top was the closest but it's just too shiny for me, although metallics are supposed to be big this spring/summer.

Did you get your Collection tweed coat yet? Curious how that worked out.

    1. xoxo, as they say in my hometown "I hear ya". The fabrics are generally on the same downturn which is why I was so excited to see a wool/silk skirt with a silk lining? Marsha's right it's probably a typo!
I have a couple of photos of the Collection tweed that I should post, I quite like it, the fit is really what I was looking for. It's very light but sharp looking with my Eileen Fisher riding pants and straight skirts, so a nice compliment to a few outfits I have. It will be nice in spring and early fall, it's not thick enough for winter like my Brora tweeds. It's also quite different from the J Crew Harris tweed blazer I have from a couple of years back, that one I still love but is quite the garden and hike jacket rather than a city coat, which the new one really is.

  16. Dani, I'm with you on that Liberty print, my realism has gotten the best of me though! The perfect shirt isn't me, I hate toothpicks, the girls' tote is mini sized, and the pouch and mirror wouldn't last in my purse, although I dream they would. Stay tuned, I've asked our Ema to give me an IRL report on the print! In my imaginary life I'll joking you for that bellini in the toothpicks and feathered hot pink mules ;) Amy

    1. Hi Amy, that Liberty print is just so cheery, if I was going south this year I'd be all over those accessories. I can see that not travelling really IS going to save me money, the money spent on travelling and the money spent on the things I buy for travelling! ;)

  18. I wish that silk print was something other than carnations. I know, v. crabby of me.

  19. This rollout hasn't reeled me in much, which is all well, as I'm at capacity in the wardrobe realm, and I picked up wishlist items during the promo. I do like that Tresco print in the Invitation Clutch and the tassel Biellas (though I know I wouldn't wear them, I'm a flats girl). I think the brocade top and pink tuxedo skirt are so lovely, but I'm set for dressy clothes these days. I'll be looking forward to reviews, and will stop in my store tomorrow to try to snap some pics for everyone of what's just in.
