Mop Philosophy Monday

I've been busy at my sewing machine these last couple of days.  I suddenly grew quite tired of the cushion covers on my front porch... here are the new ones.
I like the neutral fabric, a green print on a cream ground is so soothing, don't you think?  Fits with the general theme of greenery in the outdoors.
Here is the giant ivy hanging on my porch.  It's enormous!
The begonias have gone silly as well, it's all the rain.  We've got two of these in the pink, on either side of the porch steps.  I think they say "welcome, please sit on the porch for a Lillet on the rocks."

Talking through flowers... well it's been done for centuries!
I placed a little bouquet of my sweetheart roses (The Fairy Rose) in a wee vase on the windowsill of one of the landings.  I don't think anyone notices but it really pleases me to see it as I walk up and down the stairs.
It's the little things.
The hydrangeas are also having a banner year.
Fresh green hydrangeas.
It's the long weekend here in Canada and happily our son Old Rascal came home for a visit.
He looks like a new young man, his summer job keeps him outside for 50 hours a week.

He was happy to be home for Momma's cooking.
It was an Italian themed weekend, meatballs, spaghetti and Chianti.
I didn't get a picture of the pasta dinner as it was gobbled straightaway by those Rascals.
On the second night I assembled a zucchini gratin to accompany a giant turkey breast that I rolled in parmigiana reggiano and ground almonds.
Salad with lemon dressing and more reggiano.
It's a faux-ceasar.

Black perfect-fit tee from JCrew.
Long No.2 Pencil Skirt in double serge cotton JCrew.
In case you're wondering what I was wearing, wonder no further.  It's not very exciting, black shirt and skirt, but the shoes are the thing.
Chie Mihara Heels with Kissy Faces.
Happy Canada Day to my fellow countrymen... and wishing the rest of you an excellent Monday.
