Mop Philosophy Monday

Interested in apricots these days?  I find the fresh ones are nice but they have to be the perfect texture.  The truth is I prefer to cook with them, I'm going to bake these ones into some kind of tart later today.
I put out some apricot jam for breakfast when our good friends Wendy and Barry came to visit.   Is Bonne Maman the most perfect jam or what?  I know I am swayed by those darling red-checked lids, but still, it is a jam with a true French taste.
I made myself busy last week sewing up some silk draperies and I did a really dreadful job at it.  I made one drapery panel about ten inches too short!  Well at least I have a set of fetching tie-backs for the drapes.   I bought those in France, I think I wanted to bring a little of that Versailles attitude home with me.
Would you like to meet the newest addition to the Mop Philosophy garden?  This is Rebecca.  Isn't she beautiful?  We find her very calming and we enjoy looking at her in different light as the sun moves across the garden.
Rebecca with the urn is a symbol of kindness and generosity.  She's a good reminder of worthy priorities, don't you think?

Have you been wondering what we'll be reading for the next Mop Philosophy Book Club?
Wonder no more.  We'll be tackling To The Lighthouse.  I hope you'll join me.  It is a slim book which has a reputation for being a bit difficult.  I have never read it and I think it will be very satisfying to know that we can discuss it together.  Especially when I am feeling confused by it.
Let's give ourselves plenty of time, shall we?  We'll have our meeting to discuss this book on Saturday September 21st.

I hope your week is off to a pleasant start.  We might even have our Royal Baby today!
