Autumn Stories

Every year, sometime in August, I can count on MrBP to walk in from work one evening and declare "The Turn has arrived".   I have to say that I don't always agree with him at the time but it never fails, once it has been declared I begin to see signs of The Turn as well.
The Turn brings slightly cooler temperatures, a change in the look of the garden and a distinct energy to the air: a time of renewal and excitement that comes with a fresh academic year.
It is also the time I start to think about clothes for fall.  I might rummage through my cedar chest and paw through my frocks hanging in my storage cupboard.  Just this week I took my dark brown handbag out of its dustbag, just to have a wee look at it.  If I have anything I am thinking of purchasing I'll start rooting around my favourite websites... and of course top of that list is Brora!

This year Brora has a treat for all of us: a series of Autumn Stories illustrating different personalities and the clothes that suit them.  It's been delightful to look through the new offerings and I encourage you to go have a look at their site.  Just for fun perhaps you could share the Story that suits you best?

My absolute favourite is Scottish Colourists, though there are elements in each story that I find fetching.
I am loving the bright pastels of the Scottish Colourists Story.

Peter Pan collar.

Look at this gorgeous necklace!

Beautiful blues.

This dress has a velvet belt.
Brora and velvet just seem to go together.
A fall coat that looks so Parisian.

Dungeness Story
This story is full of gorgeous patterned silk,
lovely muted cashmere,
the mood of the countryside.

Last but not least, the English Eccentrists story, full of beautiful bright blues and tweedy shades of brown and sage, with bits of fair isle and a stunning Liberty print.

Which story are you?
Are you looking forward to The Turn this year?
