|The Majesty of Bark|

In fact what I was doing was Barking up the wrong tree. Such a good old expression (and a fine example of one word having two meanings). It means this: "...to mistake one's object, or to pursue the wrong course to obtain it. In other words, if you are barking up the wrong tree, it means you have completely misunderstood something or are totally wrong." -Wikipedia
Without a complete understanding of the colours that will suit and the items that will prove useful and wearable it is so easy to make expensive mistakes shopping the sales.
My biggest mistakes have been in purchasing "occasion" clothes and odd colours. The triumphs are pieces like the ones above from Brora: comfortable day dresses, cozy knits and warm socks and tights in neutral colours.
I've been analyzing the process too as I put away my summer things and eye up the items in the shops that are now on sale and could prove useful next summer. I'm trying to establish criteria to minimize mistakes!
Do you have any sale shopping mistakes you can recall? Any triumphs?
