The Razor's Edge

I picked up The Razor's Edge last night in anticipation of our next book club on May 31st and I could not put it down.  I've been reading The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton but those days are over.   I am now completely engrossed, ahead of schedule, in The Razor's Edge, though I should say re-engrossed because I've read it twice already.  What kind of book is capable of this?
A highly readable, addictive masterpiece, that's what kind of book.  Please join us for the next Mop Philosophy Book Club, it will be the last one before we wrap up for summer and I know it will be good.

Re-reading these classic books with you has been such a joy.  I'm so surprised that I interpret everything differently and I really feel that re-reading books is an excellent measure of our own journey through what is really the ultimate story: our own lives.  We are all trapped in our minds and it's sometimes difficult to understand how our perspective at any given time clouds everything... re-reading a classic, great book and following it from a different point of view can be such a shocking, enlightening experience.  Very telling of changes, mindset, relationships and priorities... what have we learned, how have we grown in 10 or 20 years?

So if you are re-reading The Razor's Edge or reading it for the first time (if so: lucky!) please join us on Saturday May 31st.  Book Club begins in the morning but feel free to dip in and out all day, I'll likely put the post up the night before for those of you who have Saturday obligations.
