I had forgotten about tin ceilings being so common back late 19C to mid 20C (until WW2 when metal usage was directed at war effort) but only in the English Speaking World I just discovered. This piqued my interest and a google drew me to a local resource you're likely already aware of. I remember being the envy of school bus 218 when our brand-spanking-new 5,000lb 25" Zenith arrived one Xmas.

https://www.tinceiling.com/company/history-of-tin-ceilings/

https://www.tinceiling.com/company/history-of-tin-ceilings/GSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04903412564467078538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3818151513249030194.post-15572061219748596462019-12-01T20:33:25.942-05:002019-12-01T20:33:25.942-05:00Thank you for sharing the updates on your new home...Thank you for sharing the updates on your new home. I love the green; I have a similar shade in several rooms in my house--so soothing.Hexiconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00834188332983426624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3818151513249030194.post-84713010089084863442019-12-01T19:24:53.451-05:002019-12-01T19:24:53.451-05:00How lovely! The sofa was worth the work it took to find it. It is perfect for the room. Again, you've chosen a beautiful color. You're right, it brings the outdoors in and really livens up the space. The curtains frame the window perfectly. The gorgeous print with all the colors ties in so well with the cushions on the sofa. It is a room that I imagine will unveil itself as time is spent in it, given all the thought you've put into the various elements. What a great job you did!SunnyDayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06398034412926361235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3818151513249030194.post-36035369054975198212019-12-01T14:01:17.860-05:002019-12-01T14:01:17.860-05:00Dani! The electrical headache was so worth it for the forever charms that come with an old home. I can imagine you will live in that room over the holidays when your kids are home. I can't believe you pulled this all together in such a short time. Brava! The room itself is wonderful, the colours you chose are divine and everything works beautifully. I have serious pillow envy as I am partial to a bit of Asian influence. You have a keen eye.
