My daughter is doing school, cooking, working out and dying her hair various colours with a vegan semi-permanent dye she likes. I'm in the garden or in front of my computer. So it's sort of business as usual. Philosophy is helpful indeed at this time. Do you watch The Good Place? One of the key characters is a moral philosophy professor. It's a smart and funny show (it just ended on network TV and I believe it's on Netflix now.) I hope you are feeling much better. More isolation is not what anyone needs but better safe that sorry I suppose. Goodness, how lovely it will be when this is over and we can meet friends for a glass of wine on a patio somewhere. I hope it's not gastric Covid. Any way you can get a test?
Life is good here in Eugene, Oregon. My lifestyle hasn't changed much really except for wearing a mask when I go to some establishment like a grocery store. Dear Husband and I are homebodies, we cook at home most of the time, and he is still going to work in the medical field where they gown up, gloves, masks, etc. and so far so good! I'm waiting until May 1 to decide whether or not to cancel a trip to Utah. A friend of mine from Minnesota and I are doing a "Thelma and Louise" tour in mid-May but I'm 99% sure it would be most prudent to postpone it until later. Have been working in my sewing room and soon I'll get new cabinets installed in my beading room so it will be fun to get all my craft supplies organized and it will make things easier to keep tidy.
Hope the coming week improves for you and that the rest of your family can avoid getting sick. It is difficult not to think of Covid with every symptom these days. We have settled into the quiet routine, but I do miss going out and about on my usual activities. I put on makeup every day or two to try to make sure I don't go allergic to it after a prolonged absence. Australia seems to be flattening the curve after a month of lockdown, but I do worry about our daughter near Ottawa and her family and hope they will be ok. My goal now is to sew a new something every week (not necessarily for myself), blog more, garden, and paint. So far I am certainly not bored! xxPatriciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11685403215601517267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3818151513249030194.post-83765304374876496212020-04-23T18:52:35.467-04:002020-04-23T18:52:35.467-04:00Kant is definitely a fascinating study! I haven't heard of Gastric Covid- geez one more thing to worry about! Perhaps it's just the usual run-of-the-mill gastroenteritis. It's interesting how you don't hear about the flu anymore, now its only COVID. Anyway- please take care of yourself and speedy recovery. I'm fallen into a pleasant enough routine- work, cooking/baking, reading, movies, gardening on weekends. Those counters are 25 years old and I guess some kind of laminate? When we bought the house I wasn't excited about them but the only way to replace them would be to renovate the whole kitchen which is not happening anytime soon. I've grown to really like them. They are a cheery colour, and I replaced the blue counter on the rolling island with wood which made a big difference. I hope you're getting some reprieve from work this weekend, Happy Easter! xoxDaniBPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02633155240779845497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3818151513249030194.post-46954327510433992182020-04-13T09:12:42.131-04:002020-04-13T09:12:42.131-04:00Kim I love that book it is absolutely my inspirati...Kim I love that book it is absolutely my inspiration for my kitchen. I love that blue. What a cheery colour to work in every day. As my project, I replaced the taps in the master bath (I've never done plumbing work!) The one has not worked for months and then the other started to give up the ghost and I really didn't want a plumber having to come out so I ordered what I needed from Home Depot and it took me three days to wrestle the old ones out (I had to order a new wrench and that added time), but what a feeling of accomplishment! I've cleaned up a lot of the garden and got some chalk paint dropped off by a local merchant so I plan to paint some planters that came with the house. My brain is so fuzzy these days. I'm really preferring physical tasks right now. I hope you have a lovely Easter. He has switched to once a week as opposed to the way he used to shop which was sort of after the European model. I help him disinfect everything and luckily I have a large supply of isopropyl alcohol, so make my own 70% mix and have it in a spray bottle. I only have this because I bought it last year for cleaning smoke damage off household items after our house fire. Talk about fortuitous. Disinfecting wipes are impossible to find in these parts, and this whole toilet paper shortage continues to completely baffle me.

Cooking a lentil dish in the slow cooker today, using black lentils. YUM!!! Working on a jacket in the sewing room, too. I had to take it completely apart and re-sew it because I made a mistake in my alteration, but now everything is back on track and I'm ready to install the lining.

Here's to your health!
Vavahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09403948691359698818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3818151513249030194.post-62520120740026329252020-03-30T14:18:20.994-04:002020-03-30T14:18:20.994-04:00I always feel calmer when reading your posts. Dome...I always feel calmer when reading your posts. Domestic arts always soothe me! I am the designated shopper in my household and have a similar method to yours. We have a laundry/mud room off the garage where I keep my disinfecting supplies. I bring in the shopping basket I carry to avoid carts and then change to house shoes. I take each item from the basket and wipe it down and put it away. When that's all done, I wipe down everything (fridge and cupboard handles, the basket, my shoes, my credit cards and phone), wash the mudroom floor (since it's also the laundry room) and then go change. It's exhausting! Then I go sit down and have a cup of tea. It seems over the top, but as much as I nag, the kids don't always take precautions so I try to make things as germ free as possible so the kids can help themselves to food and drinks. I can really only endure this a couple of times a week for fresh things. I've taken to order heavy/bulky things online or doing without. I must say, I am enjoying tidying and organizing and even cleaning. But I'll be glad to see the end of disinfecting! Take care and i hope the migraine passes quickly. It sure is nice to get out of the house but shopping is no longer care-free. Lots of conflicting reports here- some say face masks are necessary/ others say it is not. In my state, plastic bags are banned so every shopper brings their own- now there is a politician stating reusable bags may contain the virus and wants plastic bags back! So difficult to know what is actually true. I never thought to disinfect my groceries so thank you for that tip.

I'm not leaving home other than shopping for groceries. Friends are getting restless but I am doing just fine hunkering down with books, movies, cooking/baking, household projects. I'm glad you are safe. Please go take care of that migraine.
