Sunday Best

"Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance."
Saint Francis of Assisi

Today was St. Francis Day at our church service and all the household pets of the congregation were there for a blessing.  It was a comedy!  I have to say, they got along surprisingly well.  It must have been the spirit of St. Francis hovering over them...
I hope you've had a happy Sunday.

    1. No ducks, I think that would have been interesting for the Labs and other dogs who might be inclined to hunt...!

    2. The beagle-- rabbit combo at our blessing day was deafening; the beagle went into full hunting voice. We visited StF's crypt in Assisi. You will get there!

    1. Naomi I thought of bringing my camera but didn't... it was all part of the service and I didn't see how I could get away with it, maybe next year I'll ask permission. I'd love to have photos, it's so funny!

  3. Hi Dani, there was a blessing at our church today as well, but they did it in the afternoon as there were multiple baptisms during Mass. However, I can imagine the comedy - I've seen The Vicar of Dibley!

  4. That must have been a fun service! Once each season, our MLB baseball team has a bring your dog to the game and hundreds of dogs with their owners parade around the field before the game and I'm always surprised there are no fights.

Pics would be delightful, there's always a lot of cuteness.

So here's what I always wonder ... what if the dogs/pets have to "use the restroom?"

  5. Hi Dani,
No pictures here?? I am sure it must have been a wonderful event.
My Sunday was a blessing as I have been able to spend it with my best friend who lives thousand of miles away from me!

  6. Now that would be fun. Our sermon was on contentment, Lazarus, and tithing. Not as much fun.
