Black Bow

My most calming hobby has to be visiting my Pinterest boards and I've certainly been doing plenty of this the past week.
I woke up this morning feeling like I've turned a corner, perhaps toward health?  Fingers crossed but I'm really looking to forward to getting back on my cooking game for one.

Today I thought I'd share some of my favourite images from my Winter Pinterest board.  There is a recurring theme to the board that I only noticed yesterday... and that is the black bow.

I have a black silk charmeuse hair ribbon just like the one in the top photo, but of course I can never get it to stay tied around my hair.  It must need loads of pins to keep it in place?

Chanel 2015
This gorgeous thin black bow, set off against quilted ivory fabric and a pearl choker necklace, is from Chanel's 2015 runway.

The classic bow blouse in black: my favourite!  I have this blouse from Tory Burch and year after year I wear it, it's a lovely warm silk and it layers well too.

How about a vintage black lace dress tied with a silk bow at the bodice?  This one is 1960, Christian Dior.
Perfect.
You may have heard of the Canadian coat brand, Sentaler.  They have become famous in the last couple of years mostly due to being worn by certain women named Kate and Meghan.

I have this very simple Sentaler coat that I bought many years ago (before their prices went through the roof).  It is snug and warm and it ties at the front with a big black bow.

Do you organize your wardrobe using Pinterest?
My seasonal boards are set up with the items I actually own and wear, with some inspiration thrown in there as well.  When I do a closet edit (as I did this past weekend) I also do a Pinterest board edit, removing the items I've removed from my wardrobe.
It's a great tool for wardrobe organization!

I hope you have a great day today, healthy and happy.

IRL - I think you have to wear something like this, so it doesn't slide. I think they're so beautiful.

  2. Black bows are beautiful in pony tails, I haven't had a ponytail since I got rid of my fringe in my 30's, it's too harsh for my face shop but an incentive to cut one back in again. My uncurled, unblowdryed hair is a fuzzy thatch so they stay in quite wel.
What relief to be on the mend. You must be dying to get back to your everyday energy.

PS. Put my IG to bed for a while, might start a small private chums only one, more user friendly, pics in front of the mirror nonsense!

    1. Vava I find it very handy, I like to have all of the visuals organized under each season.
Well, I made it to the grocery store so that was something. And I managed to clean the bathrooms, my house gets into complete filth if I get sick. My next goal: cooking dinner! xx

  6. Gosh that Dior dress is so, so good. I wear a lot of things with waist ties/ bows... to a point where my husband thinks I just wear variations on the same thing constantly. But when you're onto a good (flattering) thing, then stick to it I say!
I hope you're feeling better. I don't organise my wardrobe on pinterest, it's more an interiors thing for me. But I do pin things that are inspo photos from time to time, and refer back to them, and sometimes the dresses or outfits I've bought. I particularly pin updos which are useful when I go to the hairdresser for a ball hairdo or something!

    1. Heidi isn't the Dior so perfect? Good idea about pinning updos. I love Pinterest for interiors too but my decorating boards are not nearly as organized as my seasonal wardrobe boards! I just like editing them, it's very calming. Thank you Heidi xxx

  7. Black bows are so special and chic, and remind me of Chanel. I pin interesting fashions on Pinterest but your idea of using it to organise your wardrobe is genius! Need to explore this option!
