Mop Philosophy Monday

What a weekend, it's been so busy around here and my to-do list is staring right at me and I seem to be just staring back at it with glazed eyes.  I find I get quite lazy in the hot weather and housework in particular becomes more difficult.  Oh well, one thing at a time...
A particular trick I am enjoying is having some flowers here and there to distract the eye from the dust (and the cracker crumbs that seem to magically reappear on the carpet nearly every day).
These are the June flowers, the latest instalment of the gift of "Flowers For A Year" from MrBP.  I think the colours are so gorgeous, don't you?  They are the finishing touch in my living room which could otherwise use a thorough vacuuming.
Well I'm too busy reading today to throw myself into the housework.  Don't forget our Mop Philosophy Book Club has the very first meeting this coming Saturday.   Of course a blog book club has the advantage of the post existing for an indefinite time... if you don't have time to read it now you can read it later... and come back to the post which I will place on the sidebar for easy access.

Book club beverages.
Glass of wine at our book club is optional, and may depend on your time zone.  I hope your week is off to a brilliant start and that you are well and happy.

  1. Beautiful fluttery sweetpeas! I find them hard to get going in the garden. Hope they have a scent as well.

I hope I get through our book by Saturday. The hot weather ( 95 right now!) is conducive to sitting on the porch reading with some iced tea at hand. I'm like you in that my energy flags in heat. True northerners.

    1. Lane it is Wednesday morning and I'm only about 70% through... it's a very long read and I just started this past weekend. I need to finish it tomorrow so I can write the post... happy reading, your porch and iced tea sound very inviting.

  4. Hi Dani, the flowers are so pretty, especially in that jug. I'm afraid I'm nowhere near finished the book but I'll keep on with it. Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out - have never taken part in a book club online before.

    1. Patricia it was a very long book for our first choice. If you don't have it finished you can always access the post when you do, the real benefit of an online club!

    1. Blue Booby that's okay the post will lie in wait for you! I'm enjoying the fact that I "have to" read it, I wouldn't give myself the time otherwise and it's been delightful.

  7. what lovely flowers.
I look forward to reading what the more diligent readers have to say... hot lazy weather here, I'm barely unpacked from trip - why did I bring so much stuff? and the super moon seems to have slurped up all of my energy.

    1. Fred I have been feeling low of energy this week as well which has been conducive to sitting around reading.

  8. I love your flowers... I am trying to catch up with couple of things as I have been sick and I will be leaving this afternoon for a short trip, to attend a training for work. I wish you a terrific week. Wish me good luck, I will have an exam on Friday...
