Cozy Brights

The temperature has dropped just in time for a cozy weekend at home.  I have a stack of magazines and a great book to read, ( ...To The Lighthouse... blog book club is next weekend!) so you know where to find me, that's right, cozy on my bed under this lambswool throw.
I found the perfect colour combination in a throw, it had to be a certain mix of blues and greens to tie in with the painting that hangs above the bed.  (Do you remember my "Picture Window"? )
I found it at LLBean of all places.  It comes in three different colours and it was made in Ireland, you can see it here.

It's cozy yet bright at the same time.  Somehow it makes the painting look even more beautiful, it fairly leaps off the wall.
I hope you have an excellent weekend with some cozy activities planned!

    1. M isn't it gorgeous? For your new house! I love that it is huge compared to most throws, and the colour combinations were really unique, I think I can guess which one you picked, I'd love to see a photo of it in situ!

  2. Those colours are beautiful, so soft and lulling, how funny that you and M bought the same one.

    1. Tabs you'd like it, it has a good effect on an all-white bed too. And I know you like those Irish! ;)

  3. I am off to look as I would love another blankie for the bed. I am all done to the lighthouse and moved on to a room of one's own - I had an Edith Wharton/Henry James spring - Virginia fall!

    1. Wendy you are having a Virginia fall... I'm loving the book but it's taking me forever to read, I'm going to have to knuckle down to it this week!

  5. LL Bean makes wonderful simple classic items. I just bought a duvet cover in...Ralph Lauren Navy. Well Cricket, the white and grey cat, thinks it's the bees knees and it looks horrible with her hair on it. Ugh!

    1. Blue Booby does RL make a white and grey duvet cover? Perhaps one named "Cricket"? I see a design opportunity for you here!

  6. Oh, thank you for buying from our Bean's! Such a good company and so important for our economy here. Looks like it will blend in beautifully. I would not get down there, though; you need at least 700 fill ( Bean's uses 600), light as a cloud. For down, Cuddledown, also in Freeport is the way to go. They even source real eiderdown, if you have a WBuffett sized budget.

    1. Lane no WBuffet Sized Budgets around here... I've had to give up duvets as MrBP is a Human Furnace, it's true. Yes LLBean has some very nice things for the home, classic yet well-made.

  7. Hi Dani, your blankie is so pretty! This weekend we are doing some last summer jobs outside - mainly painting the deck. Then next week I start painting the dining room - now until next spring will be a flurry of activity as we get ready to sell up and move again!

    1. Hi Patricia, are you moving again? Oh my goodness it's a good thing you are handy with a paint brush and scrubber. Where to, well email me if you don't want the world to know! I was meant to do some gardening but I had MrBP do it instead, I'm very much into feathering the nest just now, some upholstery projects and so on are taking up brain space, which is limited it seems!
