Just when I was spending the day thinking about how much I love Brora, (spurred on while admiring their website re-do and the most beautiful tailored navy alpaca coat I've ever set eyes on) our friend
Rebecca advised me that
I was on the Brora blog... with Lola!
Thanks Brora! And guess what I love you more! Just today I was organizing my clothes for fall and adding in the navy cashmere sweater dress I am wearing in the picture above. I partnered that dress consistently with jeans and a Brora cashmere stole in oatmeal these last few months... those items saw me through every single chilly night up north this summer. The Brora pieces are both in incredible condition after much wear and many washings, all ready for the next season.
Speaking of the next season, I couldn't help setting my sights on this latest cashmere dress from Brora. The chunky neckline balances out the slim cut creating an instant outfit... I can see it with some tall riding boots in a dark brown, topped with a longer-length coat.
It might have been a sweltering hot day today but it didn't stop me from admiring the gorgeous lines of this cowl-neck jumper. Slim through the trunk and perfect over denim jeans or a neat skirt, this is a jumper with personality-plus. I love the look of a big turtleneck under some wide lapels on a coat, don't you? Classic and effortless, that's how I see this being worn.
The cashmere cable knit jumper is another one to hit my list... in this classic neutral "parchment" shade or the navy, I'm sure it would be "borrowed forever" by one of the rascal daughters but I might try it anyway, I'll just have to find a good hiding spot for it.
What have I really been wearing during this in-between-season weather? A silk blouse (the three on the right are Brora from seasons past) feels just right on the body these days, comfortable on a chilly morning yet still breathable as the day moves into warmer, humid weather. I've been wearing mine with some denim jeans and a pair of ballet flats, really easy but with a feeling of luxury and finish too.

I've been working on a fall colour story as I think about what to add in and take away. I really enjoy the organizing during these transitions and of course having a look at the direction Brora is taking is always inspiring... thanks
Brora for cheering me up today and every day!
