Mop Philosophy Monday

Do you drink this rooibos red tea?  I tried it for the first time just a week ago and I've been drinking it every day since.  I find it delicious and it supposedly has 9 million health benefits.

I added a couple of items to my Winter Colour Story.  I was saving them for spring but why?  Colour is needed now!
Brora wool dress and skirt.
Liberty wool lined in silk.
Well it looks like we're going to have a new character on the blog... are you ready...
 for Scout?
SCOUT
We finally found a puppy, Young Rascal has only been begging for a dog for 3 years!  She is a Golden Retriever/Poodle cross (a Golden Doodle F1).  A less allergic dog for some mild allergies in the family and a very smart breed with good temperament.  We pick her up on Saturday.  I'll try to restrict puppy photos to Mop Philosophy Monday updates, but this may be difficult: you can see for yourself that she is highly photogenic!
Have an excellent day Tooties,
xoxDani

Scout is adorable! We've had a dog or two for the past 20 plus years. The house doesn't feel like home without one. I'm anxious to see her every week!

  14. Scout is a cutie, she may be related to our dog Atticus by name. Was introduced to rooibos on a trip to South Africa. It's what I drink at night now, rich in antioxidants without the caffeine.

  18. Hi Dani, Scout looks adorable - I'm looking forward to seeing some full-body photos to see that wavy hair.

I've taken to drinking rooibos tea last thing at night in place of my normal tea - I put honey and milk in it. I didn't think I'd like it much but wanted to try it for the health benefits - surprisingly, I do like it (I'm very fussy about my tea!).

    1. Patricia I love it, MrBP is not sold on it yet, maybe I'll give it to him with milk and honey as you suggest, it does have amazing benefits. Hope they're true!

  21. I may be the *warning* one, but glad you got a dog if you really wanted it. We are in the " have a dog cuz the youngest wanted one and now she is grown and we don't really want a 13 year old dog WE have to deal with" phase. We love her, BUT. She sure is cute. My BF has a dog from the rescue called Scout, and she will never be without a dog; we are on our last. I will have chickens forever, though.

    1. Lane I think we are getting the dog for MrBP... he's like a big kid! Chickens! Do they have big personalities? Are they quite crazy?

      Delete
    2. They are mad about the cold! One is very bossy, the others docile. And they don't live in the house. I am very cat allergic as well, but I have a barn cat who is 17 and awesome.

  22. She's gorgeous! Congrats on your new addition.

I wanted to pop in, too, to say I love Rooibos. It's fabulous on its own, and I also love it with a little sugar, milk, and vanilla for a different flavor.

What an adorable pup! We got a new pup last May and have loved having him. But, YES---keep all shoes in your closet and the door securely shut. Also, try to figure out a way to keep your pup in one area of the house--like the kitchen/mudroom.

    1. Susan try it, mine is a Twining's Tea, let me know if you can't find it I'll send you some.
I spent today going through the whole house and re-arranging things, no more shoes on the floor, baskets of things placed here and there gone... it's a good thing I've been de-cluttering for the last year or so, I'm ready for Scout! Thanks for the tips. :)

  27. I've yet to try Rooibos tea, but I too have heard of the excellent medicinal properties it has. Scout is an absolutely adorable puppy. Does the name Scout have any reference to To Kill a Mockingbird? In closing, I absolutely love all of your clothes choices for your winter hiatus. Have a wonderful holiday.

  29. Only catching up with your antics today and congrats, this is great news. I have some puppy advice for you, having grown up with multiple dogs. Invest in some sturdy baby gates for around your house pronto so that you can control & limit where he can go from the outset. Otherwise he'll take up residence wherever he feels like and you'll have a heck of a time changing his mind about lounging on your sofa or heaven forbid, your bed. Oh, it's all so exciting, you'll have terrific company on your morning walks now.

  31. Love your new addition! I hope you all love it -- our animals are so entirely part of our family and I cannot imagine ever not having a pet in our home. All children are better off for having taken care of a pet, and for us, it was a good introduction for our children to the natural life cycle when our first cat died two years ago -- we stopped treatment when her quality of life was worse with the treatment than without, and set up hospice at home. Very incredibly sad, but definitely a growing experience for all of us. But a good long while before you have to deal with that. We have several golden doodles in our neighborhood and they are all, ALL, very good, very loved dogs.

As for tea, yes, rooibos is delicious. I vary my teas between English Breakfast when I need caffeine, green tea as my staple, and chamomile, ginger, and rooibos as my evening teas. If you haven't tried it, Mighty Leaf teas are my favorite with the exception of the English Breakfast (I like Tazo better):
