Mop Philosophy Monday: OCD

Photo of order and beauty by JDP.
This morning I woke up late, stumbled into the kitchen to find that Scout had been sick  over a surprisingly large surface area of the kitchen floor, missed getting my daughter to the school bus on time and nearly overfilled the bathtub because I turned on the taps and then forgot about it.

Luckily I was then able to read this incredibly soothing blog post written by my good friend JDP.  Please go have a look, you will be instantly comforted and calmed by the order and subsequent simple beauty.

  2. Well I did take a look and though I admit to admiring the pots - I do love a terra cotta pot! - I admit to no sense of calm from the orderliness! Maybe my mind doesn't work like that? All I wanted to do was knock a couple of pots sideways! Hmm - wonder what disorder I have???

Poor you and Scout! Indy has a long history of vomiting at the most inconvenient times! And Barry is not a fan of cleaning it up!

Having said that, if I get any energy at all today, I will iron some napkins. I hate to do that job, but I do love an ironed napkin!

    1. Hostess they are serious gardeners and collectors of beautiful things. Honestly most mornings seem to go like this these days...

  5. And they have no weeds.

You are in the thick of things with dogs and schoolbuses-- enjoy this phase, well, most of it!

    Dear Dani.

    How bizarre.
My greeting this morning was a succession of thrown up fur balls all over the laundry floor.
My first task every morning is to cautiously open the laundry door, squeeze my head through a 20cm opening, check the floor, check behind the door, check the litter tray, check the bench. All of these positions known for some kind of disaster.
Only then will I confidently walk in and know my day has a better chance of being ok.
Strange how these occurrences become like omens.

Understand the OCD tendencies of the pot arranging. There are many obsessive tendencies that I'm trying to overcome (like the steps before letting the cat out every morning!).
And speaking of .. the poor cat has now been diagnosed with OCD too due to her compulsive grooming!! :) Amusing - but hard to live with. Now I know what the family have to put up with with me. ha ha ha :)
The simple thought of the upcoming trip should hopefully appease you. Helen :)
